About the event

Building Confidence. Independence. Readiness.

Life Skills and Workforce Readiness - Where Confidence Is Built and Independence Begins.

The Empowered Pathways Academy™ Fall Session, is a structured, 5-week life skills program designed to support participants ages 12 and up as they build essential skills for independence, confidence, and long-term success.

Taking place every Thursday from Oct 1 – Oct 29, 2026, the Academy provides a supportive and inclusive environment where participants are encouraged to learn, grow, express themselves, and prepare for real-world experiences.

The Fall Academy expands upon the foundation introduced during our previous session through new lessons, activities, and opportunities for practical application. Returning participants will continue strengthening and applying the skills they have developed, while new participants will be introduced to these essential concepts in an engaging and accessible way.

This program goes beyond traditional learning by focusing on practical life skills, communication, social development, self-advocacy, and preparation for future opportunities. At the conclusion of the Academy, participants will take part in a workforce experience at a local business, where they can see the skills they have practiced come to life.

What Participants Will Learn

Participants will build skills in:

  • Communication -  expressing their thoughts, needs, choices, and ideas

  • Dreaming Big - identifying their interests, talents, goals, and future possibilities

  • Confidence building and Self-advocacy - speaking up, making choices, asking for help, and advocating for themselves

  • Practical Life Skills - strengthening everyday skills that support greater independence

  • Understanding expectations - learning about responsibilities, routines, and appropriate behavior in school, workplace, and community environments

  • Workforce Readiness - developing teamwork, responsibility, professionalism, communication, and workplace skills

  • Real-World Workforce Experience - visiting and engaging with a local business to learn about workplace operations, employee responsibilities, customer service, and career opportunities

    Participating business to be announced.

The Academy is where preparation begins. The Workforce Experience is where those skills come to life.
