Hey Empower Society Community! Welcome to Empower Corner!

I am Tiana Nichelle the co-founder and CEO of Empower Society. I am also a sibling of someone with Down syndrome. Welcome to our community and to our Empower Corner were I will share stories that will inspire, educate, and inform. I will also tell you about laws that and ways to advocate for your child or adult with Down Syndrome. As a sibling I will share stories about my sister and different memories of growing up with her and being part of communities that helped her along the way. My hope is that you can relate, know that you are not alone and advocate.

My why

Tinesha is my why... Tinesha... I wanted a life for her that is full and that she could enjoy doing the things she loved. I joined different organizations and got involved. I started Empower Society with my sister in 2019. We started with a mobile app that's has a directory of services and resources to help parents and caretakers find resources in their area in every state. Then we created the organization that does community events, supply drives and helps families in need. In 2020, Tinesha passed away. Although her passing was very difficult for myself and my family, I decided to continue what we started. This is her legacy! There are many children and adults with Down syndrome and families who need Empower Society. That is my mission to educate, empower and transform families of people with Down syndrome, Autism and other abilities!
